Trap

    Trap Range General Rules

    The range hours are Monday-Saturday, 8am-Dusk and Sunday 9am-Dusk. Shooting is not permitted outside of these hours. Please note: The rifle range has video surveillance. By using the range, you consent to being filmed and any actions you take can result in loss of privileges or membership.

    The in-ground trap launchers are for Club functions only. The throwing and shooting of targets must be done from next to or beyond the trap houses.

    The following rules, unless otherwise specified on the rules below, apply.

    1. Membership cards must be displayed publicly at all times.
    2. Eye and Ear protection is required for all shooters and spectators. This includes on the firing line and in the vicinity of the range.
    3. Alcohol, smoking, and other drugs are not allowed on the range at any time.
    4. No slug rounds are permitted on the Trap range. Please use the rifle range.
    5. Do not assume a gun is empty. Open the action to assure an empty gun.
    6. Check your barrel to assure no blockage.
    7. Carry your gun with the muzzle pointing to the ground, unloaded, and action open.
    8. Treat the gun as if were loaded (muzzle pointed in a safe direction, finger off the trigger). Do not close the action until it is your turn and you are ready to call a target
    9. Use proper ammunition. do not carry more than one gage shell at a time, use proper loads for range. Shot size 7 1⁄2, or 8.
    10. Load only one shell at a time for trap, 2 shells for doubles events.
    11. When moving always have the action open and gun unloaded.
